Photomyne Question
Q. When I transfer the photo from Photomyne to Google Photos, I need to transfer either 2 to 6 photos at one time (only options) which does become one file on Google Photo! Is there any way to separate these photos into individual photos? Right now I always have two photos in one picture on Google Photo?

A. Save them to your phone and your Google Photos app will upload them individually to Google Photos.

How do I find out how many pictures I have in Google Photos?

On the "Dashboard" under "Photos" you should see these numbers, but they are not exact.

There is no limit to the number of pictures you can upload to your Google Cloud as long as you are uploading them as High Definition and not Original.

From an article in Computerworld

Both Home and Pro users running Windows 10 version 1909 or 2004 will eventually see a Windows Update notice (Start > Settings > Update & Security) like the one in the screenshot below, except it will say that Windows 10 version 20H2 (instead of version 2004) is ready to be downloaded and installed.

If you want to avoid installing Windows 10 version 20H2, don’t click the Download and install link.

A Freeware System Monitoring Tool
System monitors are handy programs if you want to know if your computer is using a lot of memory, CPU, or other resources. The Windows Task Manager serves the purpose rather well, though it can be a bit confusing for the average user. Advanced system tools like the Resource Monitor require even more expertise.

Cloud Questions
There are a number of different “clouds”. Here are some of the popular ones:

Google Drive, 15 GB free
OneDrive, 5 GB free
DropBox, 2 GB free
Amazon, 5 GB free

Consider each one your “hard drive in the cloud”. You are the only one to have access and you can store what you want. Google Photos and Amazon Prime members get unlimited photo storage. You can purchase additional space with all of these services. Amazon Prime members get free unlimited, full-resolution photo storage as a benefit of their membership. Office 365 members get 1TB free from Microsoft.

How to Hum to Search for a Song Using Google
There’s nothing quite as annoying as having a song stuck in your head and not being able to identify it. Thankfully, if you can hum the song out loud, Google Search can help you figure out what tune is stuck in your head.

How to Enable or Disable Windows 10’s Full-Screen Start Menu
While in desktop mode, Windows 10 allows you to use the Start menu in a full-screen mode (like the Start menu in tablet mode) or in a more traditional way that only covers part of the screen. Here’s how to change how it works.

Restore Windows To Their Saved Size And Position With Using Window Resizer
There are many ways to reposition the windows of programs that you use. Of course, the most popular way is placing the windows manually with a click and drag, and by using Windows' useful Windows-key plus arrow key combinations, e.g. to quickly place two windows side by side on the monitor.

Hide the App List in Windows 10’s Start Menu
When you open the Start menu in Windows 10, you normally see an alphabetical list of apps installed on your system. If you’d like to have a smaller sleeker Start Menu, it’s possible to hide the app list on the left. Here’s how.

Explain Hot Spots, Cell Extenders

A hotspot is a location where you may obtain Internet access using WiFi. A smartphone can act as a hotspot using your phone service. You may obtain a hotspot device from a cellphone provider that is exclusively used to provide access to the internet using WiFi. Version’s is called a JetPack. Local businesses such as Panera Bread, MacDonalds, Walmart, etc provide hot spots for you to access the internet. These are public and caution should be used as others could be sharing the access with you.

A cell phone extender is a device that takes a weak existing outside cell signal, amplifies it, and then broadcasts that boosted signal to an area inside of your home.

Power Options

In the bottom right of your screen, right-click the battery.

Choose Power Options

Note: if you are on a desktop, right-click the start button and click Power Options. Then click Additional power settings to see the following window.

On the left side, select Choose what closing the lid does

I have mine set for Do Nothing. That gives me the option to close the lid and use an external monitor, keyboard, and mouse without the laptop screen visible. It is like having a desktop that I can travel with. I also have the power button set to take me through a normal shutdown when I press it. I do not have a sleep button so that one means nothing to my laptop.

Best Free Portable Applications – 2020
This is an update of a list we first published back in 2014. Some items are no longer available and have been removed, others have been added, and some links updated. All these portable applications are available directly from the developer

Why You Should Use a Webcam Cover
Unless you’re using a desktop computer and haven’t hooked up an external webcam, there’s a good chance the device you’re reading this post on has some sort of front-facing camera. If you’ve never considered the security implications that may be present and why you might want a webcam cover, it might be something you should think about.

Shortcut for Locking Your Windows 10 PC
There are several different ways you can lock your Windows 10 PC like the Windows key+L keyboard shortcut. If your Windows key is broken but you still want a quick way to lock your PC, create a desktop shortcut.

Anytext Searcher
If you have a ton of documents and want to find a particular one quickly, there are two ways to do this: referring to the filename is the most obvious way, but if that doesn't help, you can use a program that can search inside documents.

Replace Cable with Free OTA TV
Don’t go crawling back to cable TV or expensive streaming platforms. Free over-the-air TV (OTA TV) is available at any time, featuring channels including FOX, CBS, PBS, ABC, and a slew of local broadcasters. Getting started with OTA TV can cost as little as $25, so what are you waiting for? Here’s everything you need to nix your cable bill and start saving money.

USB Explained
USB, short for Universal Serial Bus, is a common type of computer port that makes it easy to charge a device or transfer data between two devices.

USB speed and colors

USB 1.1 1.5 mb/s white

USB 2.0 60 mb/s black

USB 3.0 625 mb/s blue

USB 3.1 1,210 mb/s red*

What is the difference between USB 3 and USB C?

USB 3.1’s is double the bandwidth of USB 3. USB Type-C isn’t the same thing as USB 3.1, though. USB Type-C is just a connector shape, and the underlying technology could just be USB 2 or USB 3.0.

Note: many of the new computers are coming in with USB 3 installed but black connectors. Check the specifications for the computer to be sure of what is there.

*Orange: the connector does not power off during sleep or standby mode.

Missing ROKU Remote
I forgot my Remote for the ROKU Box in WI, is there any other way to operate the Roku device besides buying a new one?

Yes if you have a smartphone download the Roku App. It works great and gives you the ability to plug in your earphone and mute the TV. Great for watching while someone else is sleeping. I have a Roku TV and it does not have the ability to plug earphones into the Roku remote as a separate Roku box does. That remote uses WiFi and the TV remote uses infrared.

5 Ways That Chromebooks Are Better
Despite all the growth they’ve made in the last few years, Chromebooks still get a bad rap or are often thought of as “just a browser.” That couldn’t be further from the truth, especially now. In fact, there are several ways that Chromebooks are actually better than Windows laptops for many users.

Virtual Background in Zoom for Android

Covid-19 Exposure Notifications On iPhone
The "Exposure Notifications" for Covid in my settings under "general" are turned off. Have been hearing it is a tracking tool and it makes sense after reading the "how it works"...Maybe it's turned off in the phone by default? and

Most screenshot programs including Windows' built-in Snipping Tool, Snip & Sketch have a common visual element, a user interface. QuickSnip is rather unique in this regard because it doesn't have an interface.

No fuss and very quick. Open this portable app and drag a box. When you release the mouse an image is automatically saved as a png file in your Pictures/Snips folder.

Windows 10 2009 Set To Launch Soon
Microsoft has already published a Windows 10 version 20H2 update for enterprise customers for testing ahead of its anticipated arrival in late 2020. We’re expecting the update to begin rolling out to customers next month or November, and here’s everything you need to know.

When the next release is set to come soon you can assume the last release is fine to install if you haven’t already. And that is a good idea as you do not want to fall behind on the version of Windows 10 you are running

The Top Reason Your Computer is Slow
There is one most common reason computers slow down over time. The good news is, it's often within your control. One common reason a PC might be slow is that there is too much software running — much of it starting automatically when you sign in. Uninstalling software you don’t use, avoiding unnecessary installs, and possibly disabling auto-start entries are the first steps to take to regain control.

There are lots of reasons and most are because of what you have running on your computer. More RAM can help and an SSD drive even more. But this does not eliminate the programs slowing you down. RAM and an SSD will just make it appear faster.

Google Duo

Download Google Duo for free, simple, high-quality video calling on iOS and Android. Duo is the highest quality1 video calling app. It’s free, simple, and works on Android phones, iPhones, tablets, computers, and smart displays, like the Google Nest Hub Max.
