Photomyne Question
Q. When I transfer the photo from Photomyne to Google Photos, I need to transfer either 2 to 6 photos at one time (only options) which does become one file on Google Photo! Is there any way to separate these photos into individual photos? Right now I always have two photos in one picture on Google Photo?

A. Save them to your phone and your Google Photos app will upload them individually to Google Photos.

There is no limit to the number of pictures you can upload to your Google Cloud as long as you are uploading them as High Definition and not Original.

Explain Hot Spots, Cell Extenders



A hotspot is a location where you may obtain Internet access using WiFi. A smartphone can act as a hotspot using your phone service. You may obtain a hotspot device from a cellphone provider that is exclusively used to provide access to the internet using WiFi. Version’s is called a JetPack. Local businesses such as Panera Bread, MacDonalds, Walmart, etc provide hot spots for you to access the internet. These are public and caution should be used as others could be sharing the access with you.




A cell phone extender is a device that takes a weak existing outside cell signal, amplifies it, and then broadcasts that boosted signal to an area inside of your home.


Power Options



In the bottom right of your screen, right-click the battery.

Choose Power Options

Note: if you are on a desktop, right-click the start button and click Power Options. Then click Additional power settings to see the following window.



On the left side, select Choose what closing the lid does



I have mine set for Do Nothing. That gives me the option to close the lid and use an external monitor, keyboard, and mouse without the laptop screen visible. It is like having a desktop that I can travel with. I also have the power button set to take me through a normal shutdown when I press it. I do not have a sleep button so that one means nothing to my laptop.

Missing ROKU Remote
I forgot my Remote for the ROKU Box in WI, is there any other way to operate the Roku device besides buying a new one?

Yes if you have a smartphone download the Roku App. It works great and gives you the ability to plug in your earphone and mute the TV. Great for watching while someone else is sleeping. I have a Roku TV and it does not have the ability to plug earphones into the Roku remote as a separate Roku box does. That remote uses WiFi and the TV remote uses infrared.

How does someone transfer an image from a text message on the phone to the Gallery or Google Photos?

Each type of phone has Its own way of taking a screenshot. You need to check with your type of phone. An iPhone is different than an Android. The newer models of either work differently than the older models.

Open the picture up on your phone and take a screenshot. been using the edit function on your phone crop out everything but the picture and save it. if you have Google Photos installed on your phone as an app it will automatically take that picture and put it up into your Google photos in the cloud. then you can grab it from there and use it in an email, print it out, upload it to Facebook, etc.

When you are out of your local area (snowbirds or on vacation) the Marketplace you see on Facebook is your local area one. Even if I am in KY, for example, I get into my Facebook page and all the buying and selling is for Port Charlotte (my local, different for yours).



You need to do a Facebook search for the area you want to buy/sell.



If I were in our KY home, I would search for that area.



Then I scroll down to locate the various groups in that area. Here is one that should work.



It is a private group but I can simply click to Join Group to become part of it.



This one is a Public Group and might be better for me.



It has 31.7K members and should help me sell some things when I am in KY or perhaps point me to some interesting finds.

How To Make A Shortcut For A Website On The Desktop



Have the website open



Ctrl+L to select the URL



Point to the selected URL and drag it to the desktop



A new shortcut appears on your desktop. You can right-click it and rename it if you would like. The icon is the icon for your default browser. Whenever you double-click on that new shortcut on your desktop that website will open in a browser window.

We talked about this back in June and the following is an alternate approach:

Create an icon on the desktop that will open a website directly.

1. Open Chrome to the website
2. Click the three vertical dots upper right
3. Click More tools
4. Click Create shortcut
5. Name the shortcut
6. Click OK

You can right-click it and rename it if you would like.

Change An Icon On The Desktop



You can change the icon for any shortcut on the desktop. You will need a .ico image. Sometimes you can use one already in Windows but let’s look at locating one of you choose on the Internet.

Go to iconarchive.com and search for the icon you would like to use.



Let’s look for a US flag



Click the one you would like to use



Click ICO to download it to your computer



Save it in a place you will remember. I saved it in my Downloads folder.



Right-click the icon you want to change, then click Properties



Click Change Icon



Browse to the folder containing your downloaded icon, click it to select it, and then Open.



Click OK.



Click Apply, then Cancel.



And the icon now shows the Flag.
